I was lucky enough to meet Mel in April this year and spend time with her in various settings; one on one cardio training, group fitness and a workshop setting. We focus on giving you the tools to navigate your health journey along the path of your choice. With the emphasis on promoting more good days than bad days. Doing this in a respectful environment in which you feel comfortable, whilst supplying you with safe and appropriate training equipment.

We offer specialist coaching in functional foundations and Suspension Training Systems. We  discuss with you how to establish your perfect workout location without leaving your front door, office space, Retirement Village, or any location of your choice.

We also believe in the provision of ongoing support with your wellness journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Personal training in the Lower Hunter involves working with a qualified and registered Fitness Instructor to achieve your individual health and fitness results in a safe and supportive environment.

Personal training in Cessnock allows you to work individually with a qualified and registered Fitness Instructor to achieve your own health and fitness goals rather than become lost amongst a big group in the gym. Because the activity prescription is specific to your request, you reach your goals faster.

Personal training (PT), as its name indicates is very individually based. The average amount of PT sessions you would participate in a week would be 1 to 3 sessions. This is then dependant on how quickly you want results, your experience with health and fitness, the core reason/s you are seeing a PT and your budget.

If you are consistent and frequent with your personal training sessions, you will see initial small results after 3-4 weeks and any major results will occur at the 8-to-10-week mark.

Movement & You Fitness Coaching use a smart mini reader. All services can be paid for after the session has been completed or prior to the class admission.

We are a mobile fitness business. We can come to your choice of location. We have also sourced a beautiful location to supply a full range of strength, cardiovascular, mobility and flexibility training that meets the individual’s needs. We use body weight, kettle bells, dumbbells, barbells, suspension trainers, resistance bands, medicine balls, sandbags, ropes and evidence-based techniques to get the results you’re working for. Using these tools and functional fitness principles, we will stimulate both your cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system with the direct goal of enhancing your health and wellness.

Cessnock has many green spaces in which to get fit outdoors.  Cessnock also has a great climate for outdoor fitness training.  Training outdoors is also better for your mind than looking at four walls. 

A collection of fun activities and exercises are incorporated into outdoor fitness training in order to achieve personal health and fitness goals. The use of games and team relays are utilised, along with body weight and resistance equipment to ensure you receive a fun and balanced workout every time. We avoid high impact techniques to ensure the wear and tear on your body is minimal and the enjoyment is maximal.

The same goals can be achieved both inside and outside, but research has proven the mental health benefits of being amongst nature and interacting in a team environment tend to be better than staring at four walls and solo training. 

Our Aqua Fitness class runs for 45 minutes and incorporates sequences of exercises and movement that positively influences cardiorespiratory fitness (heart and lung health), muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility.

The class is in shallow water, meaning you are standing touching the bottom of the pool with water approximately at your mid-chest, depending on your height. The water depth provides resistance to strengthen your muscles, as well as take the impact away from your joints.

Movement & You Fitness Coaching provides the highest quality staff to establish the execution of a well-planned program, achieving a balanced approach to reach your fitness goals. We source heated pools for your comfort, which maximises the body’s response to exercise. The support of the water minimises the impact on your joints, allowing people of any fitness level to participate in the class. Research has shown the benefits of participating in regular Aqua Fitness classes for people with many health conditions such as high blood pressure, arthritis and diabetes.
